Comparison

How ever reasons that their parents got divorced are different. Alex parents got divorced because Alex's mother wanted to live on her own while Brian's parents got divorced because his mom was seeing another man " Brian looking over his head to see the station wagon and his mother sitting with the man... the short blond hair of the man, the white shirt of the man... the memory were exact. The secret ."( Hatchet, Pg.30) Both of the boys felt bad about their parents divorce. Brian was angry and upset while Alex felt "... my whole world fell apart" ( Forbidden city, Pg.15).

The different of the main characters personal struggles are very different. Alex fought to political conflicts in Beijing. First, Alex wanted to learn about the military history but afterwards he realized that everything is not that simple " I thought about Beijing... The night filled with machine-gun fire and screams, crackling flames and Lao Xu's shout of outrage before he died... "Nothing will be the same now, will it, dad? everything will be different, and we will too" ( Forbidden city, Pg. 274). On the other side Brian tried to be more positive while dealing with the trials he was facing." Sit in the dark alone and think of them and it was not bad and would never be bad for him."(Hatchet, Pg.188). In the end both Alex and Brian learned how to survive for their own trials in life.

Finally, the contrast between the main characters and their society are very complicated. Alex had difficulties specially Chinese language while Brian was facing the survival problem in the wilderness. Alex took pains to speak some chinese " Ni hao? Shen ti zen me yang?... but doesn't sound like much..." ( Forbidden city, Pg.50). Unlike Alex, Brian needed to survive in the wilderness. He was weak from hunger " he would have to find something to eat."( Hatchet, Pg.57). However, with his effort, he found berries and turtle eggs. He even made the spear to catch the fish and made the fire to look the meat.

In conclusion, the two novels Hatchet and Forbidden city share some differences and similarities about the struggles of teenagers to face challenges and mature. The novels show us how to survive in any trials. The two novels teach us how to accept any struggles in life. The two main Characters tells us how to ignore the trials in life in order to survive the trials they faces.

My Childhood Memory

The happiest childhood memory I have when I was 6 years old. It was my first big birthday party. All my friends and neighbours were invited to my big party. At this time they all surprised me. Before the big party, I was in school no one tells me about the big party. My aunt was cooking foods during my class time hours. In the afternoon, my grandfather always picked me up. After that me and my grandpa went to shopping mall to buy some toys, in this time I'm still wearing my uniforms. My grandfather bought me shirts, pants and etc... At 5:00 p.m, we went back to our house because I was complaining that I'm hungry. When we reach home, I realized that all my friends wearing their nice shirts. The time I was at home they all surprised me. I have a big cake with lots of candles and there's a lot of food and my friends are all invited. We having so much fun. And this is my favourite childhood memory.

News Paper article "Peace will be 'painful': Bush)

President Bush, summing up meetings with both sides in Israeli-Palestinian dispute, said Thursday that a peace accord will require "painful political concessions" by each. Resolving the status of Jerusalem will be hard, he said and he called for the end of the "occupation" of Arab land by the Israeli military.

Bush gave his most detailed summation yet of what a final peace should include, including U.S expectations for the resolution of some of the hardest issues in the violent conflict, one of the world's longest-running and most intractable. He used tough language intended to put both side on notice that he sees no reason that cannot get down to serious business,"starting right now".

Movie review (Marvel Heroes)

The Fantastic Four vs. Dr. Doom.
The Marvel Knights vs. Kingpin.
The Avengers vs. Red Skull.
The X-Men vs. Magneto.
These classic confrontations from the Marvel Universe are the backbone of the new boardgame from Fantasy Flight Games. The idea is pretty simple: you control one of these four superhero teams, fighting crime on the streets of Manhattan while the four evil masterminds attempt to unleash their diabolical master plans on the city. In the middle of all of this are dozens of hero allies from the Silver Surfer to She-Hulk, and a slew of general villains from Juggernaut to the Green Goblin, all of whom are looking to crush the heroes at every turn.
Each team has four members, and every hero is given a unique level as well as skills for when they are the main attacking hero and when they are simply “in support”, backing up their buddies. The X-Men consist of Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, and Jean Grey; the Avengers bring Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk to the table, the Marvel Knights are Daredevil, Spider-Man, Elektra, and Dr. Strange, while The Fantastic Four are pretty obvious with a roster of Invisible Woman, Thing, Torch, and Mr. Fantastic.
The goal of each game changes depending on the scenario you are playing but in general terms the idea is to solve headlines that pop up on the game board by fighting enemies which in turn earn you victory points. This is more or less a dice rolling combat game, with card playing and a slew of variables tossed in for good measure. The game is driven by the use of chits called Plot Points; these are like gold as you need to spend them in order to activate heroes (or keep them active) and buy allies. In game terms, it is more difficult to keep Thor in play than it is Captain America as Thor cost three points and Cap costs just one.

The board is broken down into six areas: Queens, Brooklyn, The Village and Upper, Central, and Lower Manhattan. Inside each area are several Districts which serve as the game’s movement spaces. Headlines are then placed at random at each Area location. These headlines tell the players the District where there is trouble, how potentially difficult a task is, its Victory Point rewards, what type of headline it is (which in turn tells the player which heroes might be right for the job) and whether or not a Mastermind could be behind the incident. The heroes are then sent out on their missions.

The ESL and Immigrants

In my opinion NDHS students should help the ESL students by communicating with them all the time. They should try to help make friends. Based on my observation, students from NDHS should use their knowledge to help the ESL students for their any questions that they might get trouble. The school should have few programs for the newer students in the school so that they feel more comfortable. The city of Ottawa can help those immigrant families by giving them a better job. Also giving them job training programs. The government should help them to have a good life in the place that they want to live and connect them to volunteer families that can help them to adapt to their new city.
